Today is my 65th birthday and I have such an amazing life that my kids never know what to get me. And when they do come up with a good idea, I buy it before they can. But I love fishing. Salmon fishing…halibut fishing…shrimping…crabbing. In fact, I think I like my boats (I have 4) more than my kids. They sure cost a whole lot less money, am I right?
I’m retired now and all I want to do is buy a much bigger boat and cruise the world but…like I said…I have kids. And a grandkid who calls me “Pa”. So now I day dream about other people’s boats- I’m coming for you New Pacific! I have to make due by trolling the Salish Sea and the greater Pacific Ocean fishing (and sometimes catching) salmon and other species.
About 30 years ago some friends of mine were sitting around the fire at our “cabin” on Summit Lake in the wee hours of the morning (and a few adult beverages) when we decided that we should go charter fishing out of Westport, WA. Don pussied out but Bruce and I strapped on our man pants and PROVIDED for our families! We told the wives that we would be “BACK BY NOON!” and not to worry. We survived…barely. The ocean was calm. Our wives were not.
So this website is dedicated to my fishing tales- tall and short. Because give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will ruin all of your gear and get your lines tangled and ask you to take him out fishing and never pay for fuel. About that bigger boat…
